Background Information

KANCO is a premier national membership network of NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs) and faith-based organizations (FBOs) involved in or that have interest in HIV & AIDS and TB activities in Kenya.

KANCO was established in 1990 by a group of NGOs who had begun responding to HIV & AIDS epidemic. The concern at the time was how they could respond to the epidemic and relate with the government in the coordination of AIDS activities. As years went by, more organisations realized the same need and joined the founding members of KANCO. Currently, there are more than 950 members.

KANCO membership is open to all registered NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, PLWHA support organizations, learning institutions, and public and private sector organisations in Kenya that have an interest in HIV & AIDS and TB. Associate members include individuals and development partners. More...
