Community Systems Strengthening (CSS)
KANCO recognizes that the presence of strong, sustainable Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Kenya is important to ensuring program impact, sustainability and results for HIV and TB prevention, treatment, care and support efforts.
An increasing number of CSOs have evolved to fill service delivery gaps at the community level. These organisations support and/or extend service delivery to key affected populations, including communities that may not be able to access existing service access points due to geographic, social or other factors.
Strategic Goal
To enhance the capacity of CSOs to achieve improved outcomes for HIV & AIDS and TB prevention, treatment, care and support programmes and deliver on universal access targets by 2014.
Objective
- To strengthen the technical capacity of 600 CSOs to respond effectively to HIV and TB by 2014
- To strengthen institutional capacity of 400 Civil Society Organisations to respond effectively to HIV and TB
- To promote and share good practice and strategic information among KANCO members and other stakeholders
- To promote the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) among KANCO members and other stakeholders
