Project title: Providing capacity building services to civil society organisations and CACC coordinators in coast region

Project duration: 12 month project

Funding agency: National AIDS Control Council have contracted KANCO as regional facilitating agency for the coast region.

Project Summary:

National response to HIV and AIDS as stated in  the Kenya National AIDS Strategic Plan, 2009/10-2012/13, (KNASP III) seeks to deliver an HIV free society by reducing new HIV infections, improving the quality of life of those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS and mitigating the socio-economic impact of the scourge.

Objectives

• To enhance the capacity CACC coordinators and TSC members in ODSS
• To strengthen CBOS/CSOS capacity in ODSS
• To conduct capacity needs assessment of CSO/CBOs in coastal region.
• To strengthen systems of monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance

There is huge capacity disparity among and within TSC members who are expected to review the proposal as a result of attrition secondary to political interferences
