Stop TB Video Series- TB/HIV: The dual epidemic
"To increase our efforts we should address TB and HIV together because we realize that we cannot prevent TB without preventing HIV”
Ellen Ndimande, RAPT, Zimbabwe
The TB/HIV epidemic is rapidly becoming a global health emergency. Globally 11 million people are infected with both TB and HIV, and TB is the single largest killer of people infected with HIV.
TB/HIV: The dual epidemic visits prisons and local communities in Zimbabwe, Africa, and looks at how DOTS is working as an effective TB cure among those with TB and HIV, improving the length and quality of life for people living with HIV. The video also points to the need for stronger links and collaboration between TB and HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts.
Audience: General, Training, Educational (Community/Africa)
